I was just wondering about the ISO (if thats correct) connector when I change a radio...
I have a radio from my last car and I have the wiring map for the Merc . The connector (female I think) is made off on the radio side so I should be able to connect the wires from the old radio in the car to a male connector. Is that correct?
Can I buy a male connector and use the wiring diagram that I have, or will there be instructions along with the connector when I buy it?
I hope you understand what I mean.
    Cheers .

Yes, you should be fine. I just did the same for E200 '00
Just check the red and yellow wires. If you want your radio to be on independent (from ignition)power then just bind red and yellow wires together. I wanted to be dependable from ignition but found out that W210 original harness didnt offer this option so I wired memory wire (yellow one I think) to constant positive wire and red one i just wired to black and yellow wire that goes to cigarette lighter. all works fine.

Thanks pcardin, I'll have a cut off it anyway. Only fear if I can't get it to work for some reason, the roll back option is probally out because I don't have the radio code.
    Oh well.
