Looking for some advice as Im between two minds whether to do the Dublin Marathon or concentrate on 10ks for the next few months!

Thing is my mileage has been hovering between 20 and 35 miles last few months so I understand I need to up the mileage, and pronto! I was the same this time last year and started upping mileage around now - got me a 3:45 in Dublin! This time I think I'll use Hal Higdons Intermediate 1 plan, usually go with having strong running base and build on it but that plan looks good this time round! Ive the Longford half this weekend, Lakes 10k in 2 weeks and possibly another early October - could conflict with HH Plan :(

So, is it possible/wise to mix 10ks while training for a marathon or should I skip one and concentrate on the other??

I think it would be OK to go ahead with the 10ks as part of your training but the can't take precedent over your long runs. By this I mean you might have to suck it up and do your long runs on the same weekends as your races (as you and me both know that the long runs are the key). I think the pace of the shorter races should help your marathon so long as they don't impact on your LSRs. Good Luck

I'd use the shorter races as tempo runs for the marathon.

Stick to the marathon plan as much as you can, but race if you want to. If a race makes you miss a long run, then do it a couple of days later. Don't skip the long runs.
