Aircoach at peak times

Planning on travelling Dublin to Cork on the 7pm Aircoach this evening. Was trying to book my ticket online last night but their policy is you can't book any later then 5pm the day before you travel.

I'm just wondering how likely is it that the bus will be booked out? I realise I'm travelling at a peak time, and as the 7pm Aircoach seems to be the last public transport to Cork, I'm worried I won't get on it. Everyone says Aircoach is better than Bus Eireann, but would I be better off booking my ticket with BE for their 6pm bus and at least being guaranteed a seat?

And yes, I've learned my lesson. Book tickets early from now on! :)

There's a train at 9, will probably cost you twice the bus fare at least though

the first and last buses are normally very busy and the other ones are also prone to being quite busy. Last time I was on the 9am from Cork it was also full, although I only have need to use it a handful times of year, from what I have seen most departures seem to be pretty busy these days.

If there is a large number of passengers to make it financially viable to send an extra bus down they sometimes do it, but it does not happen that often.

Might want to check here also as they've recently allowed people to use tickets on any service on a particular route regardless of booked time, but obviously you are only reserved a seat for the one that you book for.

Thanks for the info. I'll sharpen my elbows and take my chances at 7. :D

Good to know there's a later train if needed though.
