Right folks, I think I'm going to get myself a 3DS with Zelda, I just want to know if anybody knows who's doing the best deals for this?

Right I rang Game and they're doing a deal, a 3DS and Zelda for €175. Gamestop are doing a deal, a 3DS with RE: Mercenaries and SFIV for €185 with some poxy accessories pack as well!

Does anyone know how much it is in HMV?

The hut selling Zelda for €21 euro. There very slow delivering though apparently.

169.99 in HMV at the weekend with your choice of 1 from : Ghost Recon (supposedly decent enough), Combat of Giants : Dinosaurs (played Dragons, it was ****e, reviews for this aren't good), Splinter Cell , Asphault , Rayman, Rabbids. The reviews are all bad except Ghost Recon which gets middling to good reviews. If you're not planning on buying one of these games, might be best to look elsewhere.

Have Xtravision updated the instore price? Online is still 280 quid with "any game free" - doesn't say it has to be a 3DS game. I want a 1980s Star Wars Arcade cabinet for that money :)

Cheers for the replies, I got it in Game. Hmv are still doing that deal with all those rubbish games and another deal, for €195 you get Zelda and a 3DS. So I obviously went with the Game deal for €175.

As usual the bloke tried to push their "extras" on me, he asked did I want a 2 year warranty on it because nobody is replacing 3DS screens when they break, I just said no thanks and I'll just make sure not to break my screen so! He wasn't impressed but the girl beside him laughed! Then he asked did I need a case for my 3DS, I said no I already have one, to which he replied, a 3DS one? I said no a ds lite one that my 3DS will fit into! They really are just chancers aren't they!

Point of order: Ghost Recon is not a rubbish game. Try it.

Much like the cinema and their popcorn stand, I reckon this is where they really make their profit - on unsuspecting customers/parents not in the know. That said, some kids have no respect for their toys and throw around a €150 DS without a care in the world...

Ya got off lucky they didn't hassle u with 2nd hand games! Some a$$hole at GAME asked me THREE TIMES if i wanted a used copy instead of the new one. I swear i was about to threaten him violently. Once, ok. Twice, maybe. Three times, you've gotta be kidding me. Three times in a row, mind you!

That's just ridiculous, if you wanted a game second hand you would have asked for it! They only push them on you because the pre-owned stuff is all profit for them, I wouldn't be surprised if they sold pre-owned games as if they were brand new and charged full whack for them.

By the way, 3D Zelda is incredible!! :)

Yes you did, I said middling to good reviews a few posts up :)
Seems to be the only one in the HMV deal worth getting (Asphault is apparently fine if you can come to terms with some limitations) and coincidentally it's the one that's most often absent when you look at the shelves... Reviews say it's a little repetitive and uninspired. Not sure that matters given there's nothing competing with it on the 3DS platform at the moment.

Re : game shop chancers ; When you buy disc-based games in HMV now they offer to insure the disc for €1 at the till, or at least the one in Blanch does. Was very suspicious when I turned them down, got the disc home and it didn't work....

Anyone know if Harvey Norman is offering a package on it?

Some of the preowned prices are silly, near enough the same price as the brand new one, you would think they would atleast knock 10.00 off considering its all profit anyway

I seen the new mario bros for like 1.00 cheaper than the brand new one, silly stuff..

In saying that i snagged pokemon black for 20, the only preowned bargain i seen, but the box was in bits and no booklet, which doesnt bother me as booklets are pretty useless anyway. just hope the game is good now ;D

My mother rents a house and a year ago a kid left a dsi in the house and I started to use it two weeks ago and was just wondering as I plan to trade it in with a xbox 360 for a 3ds, is there a deal with zelda as it is the only game I want?

Quick question. I'm planning on trading my DSi for a 3DS. When trading, do you need to still have the box and manuals etc. or just the handheld and charger ??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,485 ✭✭✭✭Banjo

I can't say for sure, but I've bought a second hand DS Lite and all I got was the handset and charger, no manuals or anything, and it was in a generic Game trade-in box so I guess handset and charger should be plenty.

My brother did the DSlite to DSiXL trade in Gamestop, they still gave him the full discount even though it was unboxed and just the charger.

What's the latest deals on getting a 3DS with Zelda?
Why is the red one more expensive than the black.. tres annoying.

I know gamestop is €80. Is there anywhere cheaper?
I asked in HMV but the girl didn't know what I was talking about.
