Having a bad 2 weeks with new SGS2. Tried a couple of radios and still no data connection of any significance (E 70% of the time, 3G 30%) with 3 outside of any wifi area. The 3g also quit on loading pages at 90% of the time.

But now as a last resort rang 3 technical team and they told me to factory reset. Did this through apps and then it boot-looped, put it into recovery, bootloop, pulled battery, same.I copied the sd card over to my pc at the beginning but i have been doing so much tinkering lately i hope i am backed up or can be rescued at the moment, anyone ? It's off at the moment....

My dhd only bootlooped when I either didn't apply the new radio correctly or didn't install rom correctly. Start over again and see how ya go

How do you mean? I can only get it into recovery and tried resetting again, how can i get it working as a phone again? I have original firmware etc.

What was the last thing you flashed?

    New ROM or new Radio?

I would try putting it into download mode (after the battery pull) and reflash whichever (for me usually the ROM) via Odin.

You could always reflash via the recovery either (you have clockworkmod recovery don't you)

Basically if above happens to me I boot into recovery wipe everything:
    Wipe Data + Wipe Dalvik
    Then reflash the ROM

New radio yesterday and was fine. Was same 10% power standard as other 3 so called customer service and they said reset it so that's what happened. Every time i turn it on it gets caught. Do i reflash by mounting the sd in recovery? Don't know how to get file on ie it wont connect as USB obviously. Should be pointed out that is wiped (i assume) and anyway the zip was deleted from my sd.
Edit: Obviously Odin is the only way forward then for me?

I haven't done it on SGS2, but on Hero, when I was in recovery and plugged into USB if I clicked mount SD in recovery and then you should be able to see it on PC, then (mostly because I'm paranoid) I'd redownload whatever the thing I had flashed was, and put it on the SD, unmount and you should be able to find it there to flash as a .zip (obviously you will have to download it as zip for flashing via recovery)

You can do the Odin way either

makes sense (if it works, im noobish but the Samsung has so many quirks compared to the HTC), will give that a bash in the morning when I'm fresher. Thanks!

Wiping doesn't delete stuff from your SD, only your user data like contacts ans text messages, not photos, music, etc
