Looking to join a club around the midlands or east of the country. Are people aware of any clubs doing good deals on membership for the rest of this year and next?

Have to say I'm tempted by that offer, how busy would Moate be on an early Sunday morning, Charlie?

That's serious value for Moate, it's a great little track.

depends on what time your after, there is a weekly competition on every saturday & sunday and there is a timesheet up to 11:30 i think (i normally play mid week). There is a thursday open on every week as well. Saturday afternoons are normally quiet.

Course is in great condition at the moment and they have tightened in some of the fairways a small bit but cut the rough which balances it out nicely. Nice test of golf for all levels.

If you want to play a round there anytime after next wednesday / next sunday maybe give me a shout and i'll show you around.

Thanks for the offer, played there quite a bit a few years back when I was a member in Mount Temple but I let that membership lapse around nine years ago and then gave up the game for the last five so just coming back now. New Forest is also tempting but an extra half hour away...

annually mount temple is cheaper than moate now at €500 and no hello money.

Moate have another deal on as well, "Contributary" membership, exact same playing rights as full member €275 + levies + €5 per golf round. Not too bad for the occasional golfer.

If you're interested in just playing golf rather than 'membership' Knockanally golf club are offering a green fee for unlimited golf from now till end of year for E120! Will be hard to beat that. Obviously only useful if you live out that way.

Not really. Blessington Lakes are making the same offer for 115 euro until March 1st 2012.
