UR BUS curtailed bus times

As and from Monday 22nd August 2011 a new much curtailed bus
timetable will operate due to the sharp decline in passenger usage.

In addition, this service will now only operate Monday to Friday with no week-end service operating.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Just thought I'd throw this up as I know a good few ITB'ers (incl. myself) get the UR BUS.

New timetable can be found here and good lord does it suck :(

My main gripe is that the last bus to leave ITB is at 17:58, which means most days I'm going to have to cut evening lectures short just to be able to get home.

If the shuttle bus is really free. To be honest I don't see many students paying to take the urbus over a free one.

It's kind of ironic that an attempt to get people to use more public transport to the college has actually removed one avenue for doing so.

I'd say this is just the start.. once the shuttle bus becomes busy and starts charging. Other companies will be enticed back in.

I think you may have misunderstood?

The Ur Bus curtailment has nothing to do with the shuttle bus .

Good few students get the Ur Bus to and from swords every day. Including myself. Shuttle bus ain't much good to us  Not is it any use for the students coming from tyrrellstown for that matter.

Ah I did misunderstand.. I've only known people who got it to and from the center to itb.
    sorry ;D

Yeah that does pretty much suck then.

Whats with all the cats today? :pac::pac:

I assume it has something to do with your sig? (which by the way, either has a word missing or really bad grammar lol) ;)

Not only did it have a word missing... even with it.... it was pretty bad grammar. The reason for the cats is... well generally speaking most of the threads on here around this time of year are asking the same stuff over and over... So I've decided to make them more interesting by finding pictures of cats that relate to whatever the hell I'm saying to help back up things. It's probably border line trolling.. so I'll attempt to keep it to a necessary minimum.
Obviously this thread doesn't apply to that theory....

Maybe it's just the summer heat getting to me

Ermmm back on topic... the fact that last bus leaves at 17:58 is totally retarded.
Surely they realise even 18:10 would give people enough time to get down to the stop??? for the last bus of the day.
It shows a total disregard by urbus for that stop... which tends to suggest they don't give a woot about where the actual stop is.

Making people probably leave lectures early and leg it to their stop is going to result in stampede for that last one.
And more then likely the bus will be packed.

It might be worth bringing this up with su.. see if they can get urbus to make it slightly later.

My plan was to just ban people who are too lazy to do a search ;) (or who start threads asking for info on a course etc and then never come back)......but sure cats it is! :pac: :D

    Can we have pandas too?

Sent ur bus an email. Doubt they'd change it though. It'd have a knock on effect on the rest of their timetable. Still, even if it was only ten mins, it'd be much better. I'll see if they get back to me. If not sure no harm in sending an email to the SU.

The most frustrating thing about getting to college was watching the urbus drive past you as you step off the train. Why they dont look up the timetables for the trains and have them wait 5 mins in the morning and leave 5 mins earlier in the evenings, I dont know. Seems like a good way to use other public transport to help your own.
