Vodafone, O2 or meteor?

Need to get a mobile broadband stick but not sure which to get. Leaning towards meteor as the refurbished sticks are only €15 and you get 7.5gb for €20 a month or 2gb for €8 a week. Vodafone seems to be €20 for a stick (refurbished I think) and 5gb for €20 a month, or €10 for 2gb a week. O2 is €29 for a stick and €20 a month for 5gb but there doesn't seem to be a weekly option.

Last year in college I had broadband in the apartment already, this year doesn't look like I will so that's the reason for getting this, so only need it for weekdays as already have broadband at home. I do a lot of just general surfing, apart from the odd few songs every now and again I don't download anything so can't imagine I would easily go over the 5gb or 7.5gb a month. In college in Letterkenny, but will be spending a few weeks down in Kildare. Looking at the maps both places seem to be covered by all of the above, 3 is out because there's a dark blue spot over the estate I'l probably be living in in Kildare. So just from general experience what is each network like for mobile broadband and which would people recommend?

Also would getting a refurbished stick make any difference? Also I presume I just don't top it up when I don't need it (next summer, holidays when I'l be at home) and then just top it up when I start using it again?

As always, other's experiences will be largely irrelevant to you. The one you pick should be the one that works best for you, but only you can determine that. Try one out. If it works, stick with it, if not, try another.

Does it have to be between those providers you mentioned?

Three.ie seem to offer a good deal. On their bill-pay for €19.99 a month they offer Internet access plus a 15 Gig download allowance.

Guess your right, might just pick one and go with it. Can I return them and get my money back if the signal is crap? Also does it make a difference if they are refurbished or should I get a new one?

Three have a big dark patch over the estate I'l be living in so their out. Also I don't want to be tied to a contract as it won't be used for at least 3 months of the year.

Maybe, depends on the network. Check before you buy.
