Can I get a handicap without being a member of a golf club?

    Nope, you need to be a member of a GUI affiliated club to be issued a handicap

    You could get a distance membership which would be fairly cheap.

    YOu could also try find a golf society which is affiliated with the GUI. Pretty sure you can get a handicap that way too

    You can get a society handicap that way but it only entitles you to play society golf. You must join a golf club to get a GUI handicap.

    Cheers for the help guys, I wasn't sure what the story was in terms of getting one with a golf society.

    Distance membership is prob your best bet, heard some are going for 150, and 150 for a handicap for a year aint bad

    Where did you hear this? I don't think this ever existed, not in the last few years anyway
