Folks, any pros and cons to having a pedestrian access in a front wall as well as a main gate?. It would mean for my one an extra piller really, and cost of the small gate.

Depends what the wall and gate are for
If you live in the countryside and the gate is to keep wandering livestock out of your driveway/lawn, then just build an old fashioned stile into the wall.

If you live in a town , then I presume the wall is for security then don't put another breech in your wall.

If like most of us , your gates end up being , in effect, for show and tend never to be closed then it doesn't matter and a separate gate is just an un-needed cost.

If you like the look of a pedestrian gate and if the location of it will most likely follow the lay line that people will walk (as opposed to main gate which cars will mainly use) then it makes sense to put it in for a convenience point of view.

I suppose , I am trying to say, this boils down to
    1) What is your wall and gates for and
    2) What is your own personal preference

Sorry for not being much of a help.

    Pros
    - more privacy
    - improved security, restricts access to pedestrians only and no vehicles
    - could make for a more enhanced (aesthetics) at entrance and/or garden layout

    Cons
    - higher implementation costs
