Student ID photo?

Can the photo I submit for my student I.D just be one I took on my computer webcam that looks the same as a passport one? Can't really be bothered paying for them and trying to scan them onto my laptop.
Also, does anyone know when online registration will be fixed? My three days runs out tonight and it says it's unavailable at the moment...?

I was thinking the same not everyone will have a scanner so i'd say we can upload a picture we took ourselves . Also theres nothing we can do about the 3 day registration if its not working, its their problem so it wouldnt be fair if we were not allowed register after the 3 days

i think passport size but you can take it yourself! just remember you have to keep it for the duration of your course so silly faces might be regretted

Thanks, yeah, I reckon I'm just going to have to go for it and hope it's good enough quality/I don't look completely deranged!
Hope you're right there, I really don't want to end up stuck because of issues with the website that I can't help!

No probs i hope so too, do we just upload one photo or two? and also do we set up our nuig email before or after we register?

It'll be grand - they come out absolutely terrible on the ID card anyway.

for the nuig email you willget it when you register with your password, and your student code. From what I can remember your student ID is your CAO number.

Also for the picture, I suggest using a good one, as the student card you will be getting this year will last throughout your entire time in college. I didnt know that the card I got last year, will be used again this year

I'm not sure...probably just one, but I haven't been on yet so don't know if there's even an option to upload two? My NUIG email was set up as soon as I tried to register anyway, once I put in my CAO no. and the temp password.

oh so you already tried to register? i thought there was technical dificulties, i hope they fix it soon

Last year they accepted anything aslong it wa the right size.One of my friends had one of him smoking a cigar with sunglasses on throwin out a west haha....best college photo I saw all year.Someone had their car as ne too

What I did last year was that I took a picture of a passport photo of me, uploaded it, cropped it down to size and attached it. I had to take it some distance away from the pic to make it look visable

Make sure it is cropped to a good size. One of my friends has a pineapple head on theirs as they didnt make the picture small enough

The pineapple head doesn't sound half bad

I'm trying to take a photo right now but the lighting isn't very good, I hope they don't mind it it being all dark and mysterious :cool:
