While making out a list of the older 737-8AS that Ryanair have now moved on and finding out were they are now(As I have nothing better to do) I noticed that EI-CSG was sold to MIAT Mongolian Airlines on 21/05/2008.
What stood out to me is that aircraft is operational in basic FR scheme and is still registered as "SG"

Does this mean the crew flying it would need an Irish Licence?

    Anyone

Nationality and Registration Of Aircraft) Order, 2005 (S.I. No. 634 of 2005) refers.
An aircraft may be registered in the State subject to the condition that it be managed and operated from a place within the State and based therein or that it be managed and operated by an air transport undertaking holding an Air Operator Certificate issued by the Authority. (See Article 7 of the Order for complete text).

Maybe leasing companies fall under a different charter:confused:

I think the OR in that statement sums it up!!!! I would hazard a guess and say the Irish Leasing company holds an AOC,although im not sure if they can!! God it years since i did that Aviation Legislation crap, luckily i'l never again have to do it!!!

If the aircraft is on the EI (Irish register) i.e. the aircraft has an Irish registration, then the crew need an Irish Licence or validation to fly the aircraft.

    Kev.

EI-CSG is registered to "CIT AEROSPACE INTERNATIONAL" in Stephens Green now. Appears to be a leasing firm.
