iPhone 3GS data usage totals

I was checking my overall data usage as I'm thinking of switching to O2, but was worried about their miserable data allowance of 250MB a month.

So I checked my data usage since I've had my phone (April of last year I think), and was very surprised to see that my upload total is nearly the same as my download.

It says I have sent 12.4GB and received 13.9GB

The overall amount surprises me as it is, as there was no way I was downloading nearly a gig a month as I have WiFi at home and Vodafone's coverage is so poor; but it seems odd that my upload would be so similar. I'd expect on any internet enabled device that I'd be downloading several times more data than what I'm uploading.

I think I checked it around Christmas time, and both the overall amount and radio of upload to download was much lower back then.

Does this seem normal? The phone has been jailbreaked (jailbroken?) since Christmas, but I've downloaded very few apps.

I really only use it for normal browsing, facebook, news apps, email (attachments only sent when I'm on WiFi). I don't use it for tethering.

Looks like a bug of some sort on the phone. I reset the stats last week, and the upload/download figures were as expected for the first few days, but now they're both reading exactly 4GB each which can't be right, otherwise I can expect a 4 figure bill!
