Have a slight crack on the screen ,was on to apple and €211 is their charge.
Anyone use any local repair centers and were you happy with them?

    Thanks

Is the crack on the LCD or the glass that covers it?

You can buy one for a tenner on ebay and there's plenty of videos on youtube to see how to do it yourself

Weird, The image makes it look like it is just an air bubble under a screen protector an not a crack at all.

Anyway I have done both a screen/digitiser (glass bit) and an lcd panel (the yoke under the glass). It only takes 10-20 mins and costs the same as a cinema ticket.

Your right. Its like an airbubble more than a crack.

Thanks for all the help so far everyone, much appreciated!

Do you have a screen protector? If so did you take it off to make sure it is not just a bubble of air? That's certainly what it looks like in the image but it could easily be below the glass I suppose.

If there is a screen protector fitted, its the best i've seen. The resolution on the attached pic is good enough to suggest that there is not IMO, and the problem involves strippin' it :o

Yeah that's what I reckon but it's better ask than not.

edit: actually judging from this, it is something that is known to happen.

There is no screen protector. Its a case of taking it apart. As you can see its not that bad, just annoying.

That's an unusual looking crack/mark, is that the original screen on that or was it replaced previously?

Ah you get what you pay for.
There's tonnes of different quality digitizers for sale from different sellers ranging from €5-€20
A tenner is very cheap though.
It you DIY it try buy a digitizer that includes the 3m strips for the sides, if you don't you will get alot of dist/dirt build up between the digitizer/LCD from it being in your pocket
