    Hi all,

Just received a letter back form my local county council with regards to my grant application for the 2011/2012 year, one of the things it asks me to submit is,

"A copy of successful exam results for previous academic year, or letter from the college confirming your attendance for the coming academic year".

Now I have a copy of my first year exam results at home(printed of my own computer) will this suffice? Or will I need to get said results in a more formal manner from the college?,

If so does anyone know the easiest way to obtain an official copy of your exam results from the college? (bearing in mind that I live a four hour drive away from the college!)

    Would appreciate any help!

You need to make a transcript request to the Student Contact Centre (for a fee, of course). They take their sweet time so maybe mention you need it promptly. No need to go in person.

you could email them and ask them to send out a letter confirming your attendance for next year? they will post it out to you so you wont have to drive in for it.

Just send them the printout, they accept that from what I remember, GCC.

I got a renewal form the other week and they explicitly requested official transcripts. Aargh!

As musical.X has said, the confirmation letter of attendance looks like the easiest option.

I'm under Donegal Co.Council and from what I've heard from other people they won't accept exam results printed off by yourself, just sent a few emails to various people in the college seeing if I can find another solution from official transcripts

lol @ NUIG charging people to print out the results of the exams they already paid to sit, so they can apply for financial assistance. Absolute farce.

If you bring in the results posted to you, however, they will stamp those (at no cost, amazingly). But that's not so good in your case.

On the form, they say they won't charge if the forms are to be sent to a university. However, the giant flaw there is that, at least for applications made through PAC, you have to send them to PAC, not directly to the university. Grrr!
