    You can also track your images to see if they have been stolen too.
    I entered my serial number and EXIF data on both the of the two websites they mentioned and it came up with images that were taken on a EOS50D.
    My camera is an EOS40D so they weren't mine obviously as Canon is using the same serial numbers on different models, but the point being that you can track your images if you wanted to.
