Is anybody else starting this course in September? I can't figure out where to find start dates, timetables etc...also wondering if most people who do this masters have IT/Business based undergrads, because I dont and I'm starting to worry that I might be at a disadvantage from the offset!
    Thanks :)

    Hi Bookthief,

I am starting this course in September and I am too having problems finding any information on it. I have some questions already posted in a thread in this forum.

I have been on the NUIG website and there is a section for academic dates, but I am not sure if we are classified as "1st yr students" (as our course is only 1 year) or "other than 1st year students".

Depending on which category we fall in to seems to determine whether out starting date (for lectures as far as I can gather) will be either the 5th or 12th of September.

Im getting the impression it's most likely the 5th..I'd just love to get my hands on a timetable so I can fit work around it! Emailing the department secretary might be my best bet I suppose.

I am working from the assumption that it is the 5th also.

If you find out anything, I'd appreciate if you could post it here or PM me.

    Thanks,
    CompGeek.

    Hi Bookthief,

I got an email from the College today and it says our starting date is the 6th of September.

They had a provisional timetable attached too.

I'm wondering if you received this email?

    Kind regards,
    CompGeek.

i just started this course today, september 3rd 2012

i really think the people doing this course need an online forum to communicate especially as the course seems to involve very much being left to our own devices to get on with the job especially regarding the major project.

i see blackboard has no such facility nor was there any talk of a forum today

it would be easy to set up and probably wouldnt cost anything

If everyone in the class is on Facebook, set up a group. We have one for our undergraduate class and its the main reason a lot of us bother with fb at all - one can post links, docs, questions etc and with the latest groups it actually tells you how many people have seen the post. Its very useful but it only works if the whole class is on Facebook.

Is it not in Blackboard? It certainly used to be

You could email everyone in the class and there was a forum for every subject.
