    Hi,
Before I got too settled om Cyanogenmod7 I decided to try some others. First on was InsertCoin. I flashed the CM7 version. I find though that I am faced with the same problem that caused me to root in the first place. I can't move apps to SD card. In fact apps that I though could be moved to SD no longer give me that option once I restore them. Should I have installed the A2SD version. The name suggests I should have but when I Goggled it it suggested that both CM7 and A2SD supported moving apps to SD but that A2SD also moved Dalvik to SD. Any suggestions?

I like InsertCoin/Sense but it seems a lot less flexible that Cyanogenmod. Hopefully I installed the wrong version!

    Thank

Some additional info (and a shameless bump!).

I used the alpharev hboot reflash utility to s-off my already rooted phone. I then installed the CM7 rom. Very happy with it except for the camera and as the camera is important to me right now (newborn = lots of photos) I decided to move onto InsertCoin. I flashed the CM7 version rather than the a2sd version as I already had the CM7 rom installed and thus assumed that that was the one for me. However I suspect that what I really need to have is the CM7 r2 hboot as listed on the AlphaRev website.

    http://alpharev.nl/

Does this make sense to anyone? Could this be the cause of my inability to move apps to SD? I don't want to go flashing HBOOT unnecessarily as I believe that this is the one way you can really brick your phone.
    Thanks

I haven't used InsertCoin or AlphaRev but I am running CM7.

I used an app called Simple to Ext (S2E) to enable all apps to move to the sd card.

I'm not exactly sure how this works, it basically tricks the phone into thinking the apps are on internal memory rather than SD. It's completely different to Google's own move to SD function.

Once you install S2E just tick Applications and Download Cache to free up space.

Thanks for the suggestion but I tried it and when I open the app the only thing it will allow me move is the cache. I cannot move applications. Tonight I am going to flash the a2sd version of InsertCoin to see how that goes. If speed turns out to be a problem I will look at changing my hboot and re-flash the CM7 version.

I am trying to post on the XDA site about this but it looks like it takes a while before your account gets validated there.

For anyone who finds this thread in the future and has the same issue (lack of brainage!) flashing the CM& HBoot from the Alpharev site cleared up the memory issue. Still can't move system apps but have a lot more internal memory.
