Looking for a 32" TV that handles Saorview for the spare room.

Anyone know of any good deals at present in Ireland or the UK?

I bought a tv of this spec in power city just two weeks ago. Got a walker brand one for 250! Was unsure, as I usually like to get the well known brands but so far it's excellent, and the picture is really clear. Walker are also an dublin company so nice to buy irish too!

If the Walkers arent your brand....

    SAMSUNG 32" HD LCD - LE32D400
    €329
    Saorview Approved rather than compatible.

    http://www.did.ie/Product/SAMSUNG-32andquot-HD-LCD-LE32D400/19070/500
    http://www.powercity.ie/?par=10-12-32D400&pages=1&prod=32D400&brands=SAMSUNG&image=3-webbannermiddle3

You may pick it up on Amazon UK for sub €300 with free delivery, but DID/PowerCity off the shelf and less hassle perhaps.

    LG 32 LK330U
    €309

    Saorview Approved rather than compatible.

Think I saw a Samsung Saorview approved TV for €300 in a Curry's advertisement in the paper yesterday.

Good spot if thats correct. Dont all these shops now price match each other if location convenience is a factor.

Not to divert from the original question ..... but is there any bargain out there about the same size that is not only
    Saorview Approved (not just Compatible)
    and
HD (not just HD ready - 720)
    ?

    EDIT:
    Maybe one like this

You can get the same TV as the Curry's one you linked for c.€340 delivered from Amazon, see here.

And yes I have gone all the way through the checkout screens without any 'not deliverable to your location' errors. It seems that LG and Toshiba 32" are still deliverable to Ireland but Samsung, Sony and Panasonic aren't.

That Power City €329 Samsung is now €299. Or was when I bought one today.

Its HD Ready not HD however the p/q on the setup in Power City (showing BBC1 HD but I suspect not HD fed?) was superior to the Full HD Toshiba and Walker units by a noticeable margin. And I even got given the remote to feck around with the Toshiba's settings as I assumed it was badly configured...

I bought this telly for the kitchen (my viewing area...:)) a couple of days after buying the Ariva 120 for an analogue only tune flat screen Phillips I bought around 4 years ago...sitting room - wifeys area:rolleyes:

    In my opinion:-
    Picture quality is excellent.
    Sound is average.
    Teletext takes ages.
EPG comes in - then goes - then returns, which is wrecking my head so much that I have thought about returning the set for a refund, however...

For what the set actually cost it is very good!
