Just bring your licence and it should be fine. They're pretty lax with it, so long as you pay. :)

Great stuff, my wife took our car to Macroom yestrerday for test, they never asked her for anything other than the keys of the car and the money. She didn't even have to sign the disclaimer for the emissions test, I thought this was standard, not that it matters, if they bust it they fix it.. Anyway, the car passed so all happy again.

limerick centre will NOT test the car without proof of identity , was there 2 weeks ago with daughter's car and every one had to produce their license,

other centres may differ of course

In most centres, if your appointment is on a Saturday or Sunday the girls behind the desk are off. This means that the people taking the money etc. are the NCT testers themselves and all they usually want is the test fee (and the car, normally).

    Mine is a diesel...

We used to have to sign them years ago for the DOE as well, haven't seen one of them in a long time. Basically it doesn't matter what you sign, they break and it's their problem whether they like it or not. I seem to remember a judge some time back deciding that. Besides, there is absolutely no need whatsoever to rev an engine to that range to conduct an emissions test. I find it hard to believe that a comprehensive inspection to determine the roadworthiness of a vehicle could be conducted in less than 20 minutes. That's all it took...
