Fridge Freezer Recommendations?

Anyone got any recommendations for a good fridge freezer?

I'm in an apartment at the moment and the fridge is just crap. Its not even waist high, the tallest shelf can just (with about a mm to spare) fit a can of coke standing up and the freezer section is about the size of a shoebox so I really need a proper fridge freezer but at the same time I dont want it to be so big that its taking over the room or too loud as that'd just do my head in.

I was having a look around a few local shops over the last while but honestly nothing really jumped out at me. So far I'm kind of thinking along the lines of a frost-free one but I was reading online today, in an old article admittedly, that they can tend to destroy food if its in there for longer than a week and that they ruin things like ice and ice-cream with the constant defrosting/refreezing cycles. Is that true though? Seems like a pretty major drawback given they seem to be the more upmarket and expensive option.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

What measurements have you firstly. Heigth and width

Height wise I was thinking along the 6 feet mark although I could go a bit higher if need be. The ceiling is about 8.5 feet so height isnt really an issue I just dont want something thats completely taking over the room.

Width, I'd prefer a sort of standard width rather than some double wide/American style one so around the 2 feet wide mark would probably be ideal but if need be I can go maybe half a foot wider.

    That any use to you?

Yes indeed that's a good size you have. And what would your budget be

Hmm, thats a tough one. Ideally as cheap as is realistically possible but I suppose I could go around the €700 mark if there was something particularly good.

Let me get back to you tomorrow. An excellent Siemens one with a 5 year p&l gaurantee is on offer if I recall correctly.

I'd suggest going for a Bosch fridge, they are on the cheap side for what you get, a reliable, long-lasting machine.
