    Hello All (eircom)

I have been having the same re-occuring probem with my BB. An engineer has been out twice over the past few months to no avail.

Problem: Very slow speeds, connection timeouts etc.

Occurs: Problem seems only occurs when neighbour is at home. Neighbour dosent have BB. Must be interference??? Wireless doesnt work and wired slows down to dial up speeds.

Engineer: Checked to see are we sharing a line in, not the case, two seperate lines.

No sky connected to phone line etc, just a standard setup.

I did the following Diags test:

    DSL standard: ADSL_G.dmt
near-end interleaved channel bit rate: 5120 kbps
near-end fast channel bit rate: 0 kbps
far-end interleaved channel bit rate: 512 kbps
far-end fast channel bit rate: 0 kbps

    near-end FEC error fast: 0
    near-end FEC error interleaved: 127
    near-end CRC error fast: 0
    near-end CRC error interleaved: 0
    near-end HEC error fast: 0
    near-end HEC error interleaved: 0
    far-end FEC error fast: 0
    far-end FEC error interleaved: 0
    far-end CRC error fast: 0
    far-end CRC error interleaved: 0
    far-end HEC error fast: 0
    far-end HEC error interleaved: 0

Cannot do, due to location. Its a right pain. Espically happens in the evening time when you want it the most.

I wonder is it the router, these eircom routers havent the best rep.

    Hi djsim101
yes it is possible that this is a modem issue, if you PM me your tel. number I can run some tests and have look at previous case history. I should be able to shed some light on this and hope we can resolve issue.

Hello Tony, just pm my number. It would be great if this could be sorted once and for all. Others have tried from Eircom but I have faith in you.

    Hello Tony,

Any update on this for me today? Just to let you know that the connection dropped twice in the last 10 minutes (18:25). Also, should have said that when the router is giving problems, it is impossible to connect wireless either, the device see the gateway, but just times out when you try to connect. (tried this with a couple of devices)
This is getting most annoying now. Just paid another bill today, and I have been without a constant service for that last few weeks.

It is getting to the stage now that I will have to move, Vodafone are offering me a good deal at the moment.

I thought I had sent this post, but did not send :o
I could not remotely access your modem yesterday or today. Can you give tech spprt a call on 1890260260 + report that it was dropping.
I had thought that your profile may have to be re-set but as cannot access modem for 2 days that may be the issue. You should receive a fault ref number from tech support and if you PM this to me I can chase for you.

Hey Tony, didnt get a chance to ring to Eircom yet. Can I leave the router on, lets say Wednesday so you can remotely log in for me?

Also, the best DL speeds I am getting is 700kps on a 6MB line, is there anything you can do to improve this for me?

As you stated before, if you reset my profile, would that help?

    Thanks
