Lecturer retires, what about repeat exams?

Hi guys i've got a repeat on the beginning of Sept and found out the lecturer for that subject has now retired! I've been told he may not set the paper so pass papers will become irrelevant which means he wont mark it either so methods may be different. Does anyone know is this allowed? I would have thought he should be the one to set the paper as he was the lecturer? And its not exactly fair that we have to go into an exam having no idea what to expect? I have many class mates who are worried about it also. Anyone know where we stand? Thanks

Hi FinnK. Best bet is to call the SU's Academic and Student Affairs department for advice.

A lot of my lecturers always said that they hand in the repeat paper at the same time they hand in the original paper.

Bingo. I believe this is preferred practice.

The Lecturer is required to hand in a second set of papers for repeat students so the retired Lecturer should have supplied the paper you are about to repeat.
