Is there any way to copy music from iphone to mac?

I accidentally deleted all my music from my mac laptop (i thought there was a back-up). I have yet to sync my iphone to it because i don't want to lose all my music. Is there any way to copy the music over from my iphone back to my laptop that doesn't require paying for software? I really don't want to lose my music as there are some songs I know I won't be able to get back!

    Thanks

I'd would also like to know what the story is here too.

Seems like a massive flaw in iphone/ipods. When you update your phone/ipod, how do you get YOUR music off and on to your new device?

I agree. It's been two weeks now and it's driving me crazy, I can't add any new music until I can get these ones off my iphone first!

    Sharepod or Pod to Mac

I use iRip. You have to pay for it but its worth it. Very stable and no limit to the number of songs you can transfer.

Can also transfer messages, TV shows, movies, photos etc.

    Google 'senuti'
    Itunes in reverse

+1 on Senuti because it also tranfers data such as ratings and play count

Its not a flaw, its to stop people copying music from one device to another. Your music is on iTunes, and therefore you use that to bring your music across to the new device.

The lack of 2-way traffic from the iPhone can be a pain. However, it's easily gotten around and quick google will bring you up loads of options.

    For Mac:
    Check out senuti or podworks

    For Windows:
    Try sharepod or copytrans

A friend told me he was using Mozilla's Songbird to do this, but I'm not sure if it involved some jiggery-pokery. Might be worth checking that out too.

Thank you so much! I used senuti in the end-- 1,000 song limit but i got all the important stuff back onto my laptop! :)

I know this is an old-ish thread.

If on a Mac you can use iExplore. Completely free, and you can export all the music and app folders etc to your desktop, and transfer them back.

Very cool little piece of software.
