Getting ahead of myself here but wondering where the season ticket holders will sit while the stand is being rebuild - if indeed it happens.

Given that no works can start till end of season I'd say there still could be changes to plans in the mean time.

The last set I saw didn't actually include a terrace section but the stand wall was raised at the front to indicate that a terrace was probably going to be put in

How long and high was the stand?

i.ei did it stretch behind well dead ball lines like it does now?

I guess to increase capacity by 4000 it will need to be a good bit higher.

pretty much, however I don't know the relative size of it compared to the current one, as a larger terrace could make up a good chunk of the expected extra capacity when added to better seat layout meaning it wouldn't actually have to differ to much in size

I think the stand is a protected structure, so what ever is planned will have to take that into account, although I don't see how they can keep the concrete structure and get an extra 4000, esp if the terrace is to go. It is quite a high rake though, maybe they will encroch on the pitch and have a shallow rake, pushing the other stand back a few metres on the other side.

Can they resize the pitch enough? Can;t remember the stadium but there are a few dead ball areas that are about 3 yards deep... bit nuts but must be within the law.

I assume this is a joint venture between the RDS and LR, so end of season will mean after the horseshow and the lenght of the stand will surely run the lenght of the showgrounds rather than the shorter rugby field, unless they come to an arrangment of the stand to be for the rugby and add temporary stands for the show jumping.

Dawson confirmed a terrace will be included a while ago in a Q&A on it. Can you imagine the uproar if they got rid of it!?

Ditto. He said a lot of other things about the new stand, but I only remember the bit about the terrace remaining! :pac:
