The companies that make the rails generally do not fit them. Any interior design store or curtain shop should have access to a huge variety of poles and rails and usually have a fitter who will fit them for you. Don't think I can name specific stores but you are looking for suppliers of Silent Gliss, Integra, or swish rails and poles by Power Home Products or Crown window furnishings

Ikea have a great range of curtain rails and poles on sale at the moment.

Also some great deals with 50% off in Micheal Guinneys in Dublin City Centre at the moment.

And whats so hard in getting a drill out and fitting the curtain poles or rails with some 7mm/8mm heavy duty rawl plugs and screws???

Its not very hard to do.

Why put such big holes in your walls. Have you no windows?

Yes I have windows, tripple gazed actually.

A 7mm rawl plug (brown plug) and 7mm masonary bit is not a big hole when fitting a curtain pole to a wall, its standard size for it in fact.

Curtain rails and poles require a 7mm rawl plug to avoid them being pulled down by the weight of the curtain pole and curtain on it, and also pulling the curtain open and closed.

    ...

industrial look, poor finish and exposed fittings of Ikea stuff sends shivers down my spine...

I'd like something more sophisticated, please.
