Really dangerous driving

I was behind an artic on the road I've attached driving at 80kph, then looking in my rear view mirror this green GTI (reg 97d****) over takes a van about 500yd behind me. Then as fast as he could speeds up to me, but we hit a series of winding roads so he decided to sit on my bumper (with me behind artic at a safe IMO three car distance). On the fully blind corner this eejit decides to over take me with a car on-comig he couldn't have seen it due to the truck, now bear in mind I've seen some stupid maneuvers as I'm hitting 1000km weekly for the past 3 years but this was an oscar moment that could have wiped us all out.

The road has a bit of a history with deaths and dangerous driving and I am sick of it.

Do I report this guy, or chalk it down, its got me thinking hard about a road angel.

    yeah report it.

Theres to many of these plonkers around. Like personally, i'd love if the cnut plowed into a tree or something but its when they kill or injure innocent law adbiding drivers is what gets me really annoyed.
    Cnut dhould be flooged.

You should have reported him right away. Give them a call at 1890 205 805

You should've pulled over and waited till you had net access. Then posted your query on an online forum and asked for others' judgement. Then not bother do anything about it.

Were you smiling to yourself as you wrote that? What did you hope to acomplish? It's not funny, witty, informative or helpful so was it just to satisfy some needs of yours? If so, what are they?

It's the fact that the OP bothered to post about it and ask for opinions instead of reporting it to Trafficwatch straight away.
If everyone actually took the time out of their day to report dangerous driving, we'd see far less injuries and deaths on the roads and less bereaved families.

wow I'd like to believe you care, but the tone of your posts lead me to think you don't give a toss.. anyway I think theres a fine line between spirited driving and being totally reckless and this guy overstepped it.

Time for terminator to step in.

Then it should be obvious what you should have done. A chance possibly that he could have been intercepted further down the road, traffic coming in behind him could have been witnesses to his "dangerous driving".

I've heard of this happening, and would like to think it has, and does, but it was second-hand accounts, so unsure how much the story was embellished.

Well I was driving at the time and its against the law to be on a mobile at the same time... Plus I wanted to get the details i.e. the road name, location etc as its rural there are no markings, plus when I actually posted I thought, I don't really need a second opinion but too late.

Unless you're willing to go to court and waste your time don't bother your arse.

Do you think it won't be taken seriously ? I've logged it already, we'll see how it pans out.

I followed a fella one day that was clearly pissed, kept following him and rang the above number, told them my story and told them the reg etc. etc. and what direction he was going in.

I got a call three days later saying they called to his house and would I like to take it to court...

Yeah, I'd love to, with all my concrete evidence

Ah I get u, that its my word against his, well I guess the fact I reported his driving would stand me in favour in court.

Witness statements are all that are available to most Judges. So, in this case, you're telling us you were not prepared to back up your statement? Allowing the driver to do the same again? A pity, IMO.

It would be down to the credibility of your statement, your testimony and the accused's rebuttal (assuming he/she will not plead guilty)

Complete waste of time, if they had nabbed him when I rang they're have concrete proof, not three days later!
