    Hi All,
    Hoping you can help. Possibly really stupid question but if I do the ACCA through Kaplan then can I do my exams in Ireland?

    If I start F1, F2, F3 now dp you think that would give me enough time to study for the exams in Dec2011?

    Also, the Kaplan course seems cheap, is this because it doesn't include the exams?

    Thanks in advance.

    You really shouldn't need to pay for tuition for F1-F3, I'd buy the Kaplan (or other) books and start working through them. Opentuition.com is a handy free online resource as well. You can take the CBE any time but you should be able to complete them before the end of the December session (which actually ends 31st January for the CBE). By doing them the CBE route you can take one at a time and leave yourself a couple of weeks between each, eg: take F1 at the end of Oct, F3 at the end of Nov, and F2 in late January.

    Oh right so you take them out of sequence? What is CBE? And where do I apply for the exams?

    I was on Open Tuition but there is a change in the study material for the December exams so didn't know whether to go ahead and doenload them.

    CBE = Computer Based Exam

    There's a list on the ACCA website http://www2.accaglobal.com/students/exams/cbes/

    Yes, they've changed but alot of what's covered is the same. The older OpenTuition notes will still be useful but I'd get updated books.

    Thanks so much. That has been a big help. Do you think Open Tuition notes are enough to pass F1?

    Probably but I'd buy the book from Kaplan or BPP. You can get the BPP book for less than €30 at the Book Depository.

    I am also hoping to pass F1, F2 and F3 by the 31st January. However i am a bit confused about where I should pay my fees. Are the fees to be paid directly to the college where you are intending to sit the CBE or should they be paid on the ACCA website (£55 per paper in booked before 8th September)?
    Thanks

    For the CBE you need to be registered with ACCA as a student but you pay the actual exam fees to the location where you are going to take the exams. Details of how to register are normally found (somewhere) on the location's website.

    Thanks a million SBWife.
    I will then contact DBS/Griffith directly whenever I want to sit the exam.

    BPP offer it as well in Dublin, you need, if I recall correctly, to give at least two weeks notice. Most of the centres schedule the CBEs for one day a month, but they are staggered so that they are given each week depending on where you go.
