The Collectors Shop Blackrock Market, is it ever open?

Does anyone know what the story is with 'The Collectors Shop' in the Blackrock market?

I have gone there six times over the last three months in order to have a look at their coins. The place was only open on one of those occasions. But that one time, it had a 'back in 5 minutes' sign up, so I waited half an hour and no one came back.

Seems like a strange way to run a business. They don't open until 11:00 or 11:30, depending on which of the signs on the shop you look at, but I have tried them at all different times.

There is another stall around the corner selling coins so I have bought a few items there.

    Hi DMcL,

I find that a lot of these type of shops have flexible hours, probably because they are one-man businesses and domestic issues etc. will cause them to close.

Because I have to travel to them, I usually ring them the day before to make sure they'll be open.

Yes, I think I'll get their number and check before hand next time. I just assumed that because it was an actual shop rather than just a stall it might be a bit more consistent.

I used to have his number but here's the market number - only a few premises are open on weekdays and Sat/Sun is the best time to call. :)

This is a mobile number for the shop but it may be out of date. (087) 925 2746

I've been doing business with Jimmy O'Brien for almost 20 years and I've not known a weekend or bank holiday that he wasn't there. If I'm looking for a specific item I'll text or ring him and he'll tell me if he has it, can get it, or where to get it. He's even opened at times for me during the week and brought things to me to buy. His mobile is 0879252746. He's decent and has quality inventory.

...and some of these shops / market stalls are run by hipsters which means a casual and relaxed attitude to set trading times maaaan.
