How to start racing?

Hi, apologies if this has already been asked.

How does one go about start racing? What are the entry level races? I've seen races discussed mentioning B, C categories, etc.

Also, just wondering what sort of a pace would be expected at the lowest "division" races?

Sorry for the noob questions, thanks in advance.

If you are asking this sort of question my advice would be to join a club.

At this stage of the season (tail end), you would be best preparing for autumn/winter training and getting a good base for next spring. Club group rides would be the best and easiest transition to bunch riding and race advice.

As Idleater says, do some club spins - you'll soon get a an idea of pace and the difference being in a group can make

Aim at getting into some of the faster spins over the winter, with a view to doing club racing from the spring. Once you've experienced racing at Club level you will have a better idea of whether you want to give open racing (at its lowest level, A4) a go. Then just take if from there ....
