Informational Stickies in Forums vs Boards Wiki

A lot of forums have recommendation threads and quite often these threads are more than a little ungainly. They contain a well laid out opening post but after than it's a rambling assortment of suggestions and comments on suggestions.

It's quite likely that the information one is looking for is there but realistically most users wont even search the current forum before starting a new thread never mind trawl through a 10+ page thread for the possibility of an answer.

Boards has a Wiki which is little used but would be idea for this purpose. The cycling forum makes use of it and it's a brilliant resource but unfortunately seldom updated.

I wonder would the moderators/most frequent posters be willing to maintain an informative page for forums containing current recommendations and criticisms. They would have to be updated with a frequency appropriate to the topic so in some cases it may not be a trivial task.
