I was just wondering is there a gun/gun calibre that can be bought/used without a gun/hunting licence and is powerful enough to shoot rabbits, crows, pigeons, etc.I know airsoft guns are up to 1 joule, would this kill any of the animals mentioned?Any answers would be appreciated, thanks.

no. Anything more than 1 joule requires a licence and anything that doesn't should defo not be shot at an animal! Get yourself a .22lr they can be picked up for a couple of hundred quid and are cheap as chips to run. Licence is 80euro for 3 years so that wont break the bank ether!

Just curious, but why would you want to go hunting and not want to bother getting the right tool for the job?

Well I am not really familiar with the power of a gun and what it can kill and now I know so no worries.;)

Well fair play for asking. I'd be fairly sure there are a few browls up and down the country who would go off shooting with a 1 joule air rifle. at least you had the common sense to ask.

I'ld second the .22lr or even an air rifle. A decent air rifle can sometimes cost a lot more to buy than a .22lr but its ideal to start shooting with as it is powerfull enough but you dont have to worry so much about backstops etc and pellets are dirt cheap.
