I am a free lance make-up artist and am struggling to find a mascara that doesnt fall!

Loreal works fine on me but a brand new one on a client can still fall.

I've experienced the same problem with new YSL mascaras too so it doesnt seem to go away if the product is new or high quality.

Do you know why it happens? Is it if the person has thin lashes and the mascara just falls off after a while?

    Anyone any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance

By fall do you mean kinda flake off throughout the day? I use the Chanel Inimitable mascara as in my experience it is the only one that doesn't do that. It was actually recommended to me by a friend who is a make up artist, its what she uses. I always found the YSL mascara to be one of the worst culprits for flaking off, followed by benefit bad gal.

Yes that's what I mean. It's frustrating that doing good make-up is ruined by poor mascara. I'll try the Chanel mascara. How long do you find it lasts before you need to buy another one?

I use the Loreal one as its inexpensive so I replace it regularly reducing the risk of it drying out and flaking off but if the Chanel one is better maybe I won't need to do that.

    Thanks loads for your help:)

I use No.7 Exceptional Definition and have not had this problem at all.

The same with Lancome defincils and hypnose.

I will say though, that my two Lancome mascaras I have had for a nearly 18 months, it's only now that they are starting to dry up/become flaky and leave little clumps on my lashes.

I know you're supposed to change mascaras every three months, but after paying €30 for each Lancome mascara, I wasn't prepared to throw them away when they were absolutely fine and there wasn't a thing wrong with them.

I know about hygiene etc, and while I am clean/hygenic, I was the only one who used those mascaras (I never let anyone else use my mascaras unless they are using a disposable wand).

OP, can I ask, do you use the same mascara wand on everyone? If you had five clients in one day, would you use the same wand on all five? Or do you use disposable wands?

My mother gave me her YSL Faux Cils, I've been using it since Feb and only a few weeks ago noticed that there are little bit flaking off.

My all time fave mascara is the No.7 exception definition though.

Boots are doing the €7.50 No.7 vouchers, so if you had one you could get the mascara for around €9-ish.
