    Works out at about €1320

That brings the ASUS in about €300 cheaper when it is released

Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts or experiences, Dell have been promoting 3d capability on their graphics card but does the Asus have this also? I have a 3d tv and would like to be able to connect up the laptop via HDMI for 3d content, it is unclear if the ASUS can do this

Thanks for any help or opinions in advance.

I was looking at that Asus as well but its not been in stock anywhere that I've found. It was on saveonlaptops for a while but they seem to have taken it off the site as an option so I don't think you will see it anytime soon.

If you don't need the 1080p laptop screen or blu-ray this is similar but better priced.

I've been eyeing this one up msyelf

Blu ray variant here but a good bit pricier.

As the Asus has a GT 550m graphics card, all it is lacking is the 3DPlay software bundled with the Dell which can be got seperatley for £24.95 here.

Aside from that all you need is a 3D TV, Glasses, Bluray (only for playing 3d movies not gaming) and a HDMI cable.

You can check your TV is compatible on the NVidia website
    .

I really should have also also pointed out that those mobile graphics cards are probably going to struggle to play modern games at 1920 X 1080 even at at fairly low settings, which would somewhat defet the 3d wow factor I would think.

Unless gaming on the go is a must, you would nearly be better off splitting off the budget into building a fairly decent gaming HTPC 500-600 (if you haven't done this before it is really not that hard :)) and getting a more basic 400-500 laptop for every day tasks?

I agree with the cookie monster's advice: Get a Desktop and a companion ASUS netbook for mobility.
