ITVs team for the world cup, from :http://www.therugbyblog.co.uk/itv-announce-team-for-rugby-world-cup-2011

Commentators: Nick Mullins, Simon Ward, Martin Gillingham, Bob Symonds
Co-Commentators: Alan Quinlan, Scott Hastings, Phil Vickery, Andy Gomarsall
Pundits: Sean Fitzpatrick, Michael Lynagh, Francois Pienaar, Lawrence Dallaglio, Gareth Thomas, Thom Evans.
Presenters: Steve Rider, Martin Bayfield, Craig Doyle

Quite a team of pundits, the presenters don't bother me that much either, but I'm no fan of ITVs (ESPNs as was) commentary for rugby. Non stop talk with little rugby knowledge, I have the internet for spouting that! Great gig for Quinlan tho. I don't expect http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/rugby/rugby-union/news-comment/classic-phrases-from-commentator-bill-mclaren-1545616.html
it'd just be nice not to notice them too much....

Steve Rider and Craig Doyle annoy me. Far too chirpy, especially at the hours of the morning I'll be watching these games!

heh yeah, sadly I'm sure my wife will enjoy breakfast with Craig... phnar phnar.

In fairness to him I watch the HC and GP highlights and he's grand, as a link man. It's the constant chattering of the commentators that gets me.

I like Fitzpatrick and Lynagh when they are on Sky. They're both very knowledgeable and are good speakers. Dallaglio comes across well in any of the Sunday Times interviews with him too. I don't know much about the others as pundits.

Dayglo is good on the beeb too, except when England are playing and the (red) rose tinted glasses come on.

I find both the above and Paul Wallace fairly dull tbh.

    Dallaglio is decent though.

Usual suspects I believe. Williams leading the charge with Franno involved too. I know where I'll be watching my coverage.

I remember Bayfield from the last world cup and found him very entertaining and an excellent presenter, much better than ryder and doyle.

is Williams not off to Norbonne?

Joe Schmidt, Shane Horgan & Kurt McQuilkan added to RTE's panel, all good additions

To be honest i find Quinlan to be the most boring uninteresting interviewee, i'd imagine he'd be sleep inducing so early in the morning on ITV.

Question for Setanta viewers north of the border - will their coverage be blacked out due to ITV holding UK rights? They do this with their live Premiership football coverage.

re Joe Schmidt, Shane Horgan & Kurt McQuilkan on RTE
They should just go ahead and paint the set blue! :D;):D

Have ITV player already on the phone for early morning viewing, but it doesnt work that well (certainly not on an android nexus s) the "illegit" versions are always better quality, sadly.
I might try hooking up a proxy Setanta feed on my mobile (I'm in the Yew-Kay), Australia Italy for instance.... might buy an old school teas-maid for the ultimate lazy viewing experience.

is this not a paid site though, I know it was for a while at least

as I'll be in mexico and newyork for the first 2 games I'll be trying to give it a shot anyway

Free at the moment Joe and I'd imagine it will be for a while yet.

The App's top of the iTunes charts and is reeling in potential customers.
They'll look to monetise that at some stage though no doubt.
