Is there a new policy for non-eu students living in Ireland more than 7 years

Many Chinese students hold student visa living in Ireland for years. They spent their money for high tuition fess, accommodation, living; most of them could not get work permission after years stay because they are not the priorities comparing with EU citizens, so, most of them kept student visa for more than 7 years even, they are allowed to work for 20 hours a week, now they gradually moved back to China because they could not stay longer with student visa based on this country's immigration law, but they started have sentimental ties to this country, although they complained about the immigration policy changes again and again just to keep them out, although they said they wanted to buy a house to boost Irish business (otherwise, the houses in the market will not be sold out until 2030)..., but still policy is policy...

Someone recently talked about new policy for non-eu students who have lived in Ireland for more than 7 years, although more and more those students have arrived their home town already, but the rest of the who are facing "leave or stay" issue hopefully could benefit from the new rumored news...

Sorry for the humble English, but hopefully some one can state more related to this.

    Thanks.
