    Hi all,
Planning a trip to St Anton for March 2012. Does anyone have any reccomendations on where to stay. Looking for an apartment within walking distance ( 5 mins ) from the centre. Never been there before.
Which airport is best to fly into ? Is there a train for transfer to resort ?

    Thanks guys

    Hi Mate,

Can only help you with some of the info. Great resort, best I've been too, but very expensive. We flew in and out of Innsbruck, there is a train station very close to the center of town, but we had a coach organised so Im not sure on the train from Innsbruck to St Anton, Im sure its easy to look up though :D

Yeah I went via Zurich, you can get a train from the airport to Zurich HB and then transfer to another one to St Anton. THere was some web special which meant the train was only 40 euro return. THink Swiss fly to Zurich.

St Anton has a very good website for accomodation. If you're going for a week you can prob book in advance, but if your days are awkward, or not in their week to week schedule it'll come back saying they've no availability. Basically, this is because the accomodation owners are holding out to get a full week booking. If you hang on until the week before then, assuming its not Easter, you'll have loads of options.

    Hi,

I'm also thinking of going to St. Anton with a group of lads, between 4 and 8 of us. I guess we're looking for a good variety of slopes, good apres-ski, and good nightlife! It's not too much to ask is it? Anyway, what is St. Anton like for all of these?

    Any info appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Ed.

The resort has a huge variety of slopes, although it is tilted towards intermediate\experienced skiers or boarders. Its listed on the world snow board guide as the best resort in the world.

I dont know about that, but its certainly the best resort I've been to :D

The apres ski is unreal, Mooservert and the Krazy Kangroo are heaving. The town itself has a variety of clubs and bars, they will keep you well oiled into the wee hours:D

One think you should note is that its expensive :)

    Hi Guys,

Anymore accommodation recommendations in St. Anton?

Trying to book for about 8-10 people in Mar. Finding it hard to get a reasonable price.

    Thanks, BN

I got a place a few weeks ago for March. 5 min walk to the main bahn. Not bad. €380 each for a week. 2 bed apt. There were cheaper options but further away.

This guy has a few left but they are a good bit outside the town for the week i wanted. He has some close to the town but much more expensive.
The st Anton website has loads of places.

    G'luck

I came across it searching for accommodation in St Anton, haven't booked anything yet although I probably will. Just send the guy a mail and he'll get back to you with prices etc.

To be honest you'll struggle to do St A for reasonable prices. It's an expensive place. That said, the resort itself is great. It's HUGE. Not an ideal place for beginners, however it's a great place for groups. Krazy Kangaroos is good fun, skiing down drunk in the dark is an experiences, watch out or streams....

Had loads of good night clubs in the town itself. Ski school instructors put on a show once a week as well. Really cheesy but impressive.

    Cheers for the info CardinalJ.
The group that's going are intermediate or above.

We've been to a few places in Austria over the years (stubai, ischgl etc.) but we wanted to try out St Anton. (if we can get it at the right price).

A few of the group have already been as well, which helps as they know the layout of the town.

Flights, transfers, rental all worked out. So now just need to find accommodation!

What would you expect to pay for 1 week B&B?

When you going? I'm taking the DUB - ZRH flights as well, and then the train to St Anton on the 4th of Feb, looking forward to it. Also, did you get accommodation? We haven't booked any yet

Can I piggy back on this thread?

Does anyone have any recommendations on where to get your ski/snowboard rental in St. Anton? Within the town preferably.

Most places are coming out about 160/170 euro (inc. boots).

Can you get them cheaper anywhere?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28 DC1976

I am sure there are lots of places to rent ski's and boots. I am not looking. Just get stuff when i get there, i have boots already so only need ski's and poles.

Yep, lots of places alright but for 160/170 euro for the week.

Hoping to get it nearer 100 or below. Back in Oct I found a site online that offered skis + boots for just over 100. Seems the offer is over though. :(

Maybe someone might have a coupon/promotion code?? :)
