    Out of curiosity, if one is basically 0.2% or so off a grade, will the examiner give you the lower grade rather than the higher one?

    For music it says on the marking schemes to round down any fractions in the grand total. I don't know about any other subjects though. I hope this helps.

    From what I've heard, in the case of the JC, they don't mark you by percent but rather marks, e.g. 510 marks in Maths is an A whereas 509 is a B. However, if you were just a few marks shy of the next grade your examiner might look for a few extra marks for you if they can. If they can't find any they can't really just boot you up a grade for the sake of it, they do have to follow a bell curve.

    Yes you would get the higher grade at E/D - Not always at the other points. It depends on how the grades are falling.
