Have a metallic claterring rattle when passing over small ripples and bumps in the road. It dissapears when I press the brakes at same time and reappears when the peddle is released. Handbrake has no effect.
This is due to rattle int the pads I think.
What sort of anti rattle clips are used? Should there be a clip visible when examining with the wheel removed? Where is it and how hard is it to fit / replace.

    Thanks for any advice

Yep...it's most likely the anti-rattle clip at the back of the pad is missing. A new set of pads will sort it out.
