What do people outside The Pale "do"??

Hi,

OK, heres a good one, I recently gave a friend of mine a lift to the Wesht from Dublin. He works in an Office, lives in Rathgar, and thinks that 99% of the people in Ireland either work and live in Dublin and Cork, and the other 1% are Farmers. As we drove through the county towns and villages, he looked around and asked..."What do these people do??", which is a fair question, so I said I'll ask....starting with me...I'm a musician and Retail Manager....what do you do?...Lets show the sheltered that there is a whole other Country outside the city walls!!:D

The ones who aren't farmers,unemployed or working rural based jobs commute to the other towns and cities that aren't Cork or Dublin and do the same jobs as the people who work in Cork and Dublin. Why on earth would you even have to ask?

I dont, "The Pale is not specific to Dublin, but denotes any boundry that separated a city from the Barbarians (us!), you can find referances to "Pales" across Europe......:P
