    Little confused on this

I have been offered and accepted a place in college (Mature Applicant).
I am entitled to btea .

Has the grant been scraped this year for those in receipt of btea? or do they just pay the fees:confused:

    Many thanks in advance

They pay the fees - you don't get any maintenance - You have to apply on the forms at www.studentfinance.ie

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Nope, as said above it's the fees only (I got my fees paid today so I'm speaking from experience) :(

im also a mature applicant, also confused abt BTEA. i dont even have a commencing date yet from college, nor have i heard anything back on my BTEA application.

ive asked a lot regarding my commencing date and i think i remember one time the receptionist told me that they give commencing date very late near to early Sept because many dont attend after their BTEA is accepted.

Same thing with BTEA, I havent heard anything about my BTEA application since I submitted it 2 months ago. The SW told me that all application wont be looked at until the end of August. So I dont know if they want to wait to see if we actually attend the course before they decide?

I can understand their concern, but I also want to make sure that I get the BTEA, or else I wont be able to cover my life expenses during course. I mean, its not like I can retain dole if Im unavailable for work / to look for work due to attending course.
