    NOTE
Have compiled list of MINIMUM LC REQUIREMENTS for students interested in applying to UK via UCAS in 2012. In fact I have also left the pathway so as someone else can do it in any year and indeed for any subject.

Perhaps the forum should start a new thread as seems to be in many peoples minds with the shocking increase in points for Irish Medicine this year.
It would be really helpful if any Irish students currently doing medicine in UK could tell others where they are and how easy/difficult it was to get in.

As regards the question of fees I think that Scotland charge no fees to EU ie Irish undergraduates. Fees in England will definitely be £9,000 per year BUT Irish students are eligible for a student loan and that is low interest and repayment only when you earn over £15,000 per year but again maybe current students can comment.

If this is wrong forum sure moderator will move. Good Luck!!

you generally need 6 A's to get accepted in ireland as well.

nah, 3 a's, 3 b's plus a solid hpat will do the trick in ireland, 540 ish

    540 is 6 A2s... (on average)

90 x 6 = 540, plus alot of people bank on the HPAT and do sh1t and then cry about it on boards.

    3 a1's, and 3 b1's is 555, so you can even afford a few b2's, or a2's, or even a c, at a stretch

  • Registered Users Posts: 236 ✭✭drrkpd

why is the title in CAPS

I don't know - apologies!! I did it I think because it was the header but didn't realise it would stay that way in forum. I can't change it now I am afraid so it will have to stay. Even in Capitals didn't get much attention.

maybe it would have more impact in LEaving cert forum?
