According to to-days Irish Examiner Ryanair are to axe the Ork-DUB route. Officials at Cork Airport state that they have received no formal notification of the closer but are not susprised. Passengers that have booked for after October have been notified. Ryanair have blamed the high charges at Dublin airport and the opening in full of the M8 motorway.

indeed, the article in full is here : http://www.examiner.ie/ireland/cork-domestic-flights-end-as-ryanair-axes-dublin-route-165149.html

    No real loss really.
Those with a car can get to Dublin quickly with a predictable journey time and relatively cheaply.
Those who don't have a car, an hourly train from 5 in the morning or so will bring you there.

The one benefit of having a Cork-Dublin flight was to allow you to take advantage of the far better onward connections from Dublin.
Since the service was down to 1 flight a day even this benefit was negated, so also no loss that the service is gone completely.
