    Hi there.

I've been out of work sick for a whole week with a virus. I did not go to the doctor till it got really bad after a few days but I have a doctors note covering the period i was missing and beyond but i went back to work earlier than recommended. Anybody know if I am entitled to claim some or any lost income from the social welfare for this week of work?

I'd be grateful for any advice!:)

    From citizensinformation.ie
You must apply for Illness Benefit within 7 days of becoming ill. No payment is made for the first three days of illness
If you want to claim the other 2/3 days from SW you wil need to go back to your GP and ask him/her to complete a SW cert so that you can submit it to your local SW office.

Is it not no payment for the first 6 days of illness
