Here's mine, no matter how I try to make it more efficient I can't seem to beat the 30 minute barrier for my ritual, maybe because I don't want to :D

    1. Fill bowl with hot water, place brush in water to soak.
    2. Wash face with Proraso Glycerine Soap
    3. Rinse face & re-fill sink with fresh hot water
    4. Using clean face cloth do the hot towel treatment on the face for 2 minutes.
    5. Dry face, apply some Silcocks base (this step is new, just trying it out)
    6. Empty hot water from bowl, shake water from brush
    7. Add some cream to bowl (if using soap I would have soaked the soap in water for a while) and lather.
    8. Apply later
    9. First pass, WTG
    10. Rinse & re-lather for second pass combination of ATG & XTG
    11. Rinse and assess, usually perform a third pass XTG along neck and chin area.
    12. Rinse with cold water.
    13. Apply after shave balm
    14. Remove blade, carefully clean and dry blade and razor and store away.
    15. Apply after-shave (Speick or Floid Blue)
    16. Clean up sink area.

    Total time: 30 mins.

I'd have to say I'm running around the same time at the minute. Not timed it yet though.

Takes me about a minute. Apply water to face and shave with a Hydro razor.

Are you guys using a straight razor for that process?

I take about 25 minutes, but I do use a straight razor.

So stropping takes up a minute or so before and after the shave. I also have to make sure the straight is completely dry before putting it away so it doesn't leave stains on the blades - which can eventually lead to rust.

My 2nd and 3rd straights both have marks on them from when I overlooked drying them completely.

The clean up of the sink and putting stuff away takes me a surprising amount of time. I reckon the actual shaving part of my mornings only takes about 15 of the 25 minutes.

I think they both use a DE (double edge) razor. I know Buford does and I'm assuming run_Forrest_run does.

Only had my first DE shave yesterday. Took about 25 minutes in total. Am just wondering, do you guys shave at night or in the morning. Can't see myself sacrificing 30 minutes in bed just to shave in the mornings before work!

I shave at night, and I'm using a DE. Couldn't be arsed in the mornings

I shave after my post work shower in the arvo.

I use a DE and take about 10 mins actually shaving.

Longer on the weekend when I can take my time.

I only shave while I'm in the shower. I wait a bit, so that the soap/shampoo has softened up my facial hair & follicles have opened, then have the job done in several minutes.

I use a Mach 3, and replace the blades every 3 months or so.

Normally I prefer to shave in the evenings, because I like to put sudo cream on my neck. It's the best I've used for a rash, but I look like Bozo the clown.

    Mine's about 10-15 min.

    1) Microwave some filtered water in this big mug I have, 90 seconds
    2) Put brush and razor in mug with hot water and put soap bowl upside down on top to soften soap and keep in heat.
    3) Give sink a quick clean with a nylon scourer and hot water.
    4) Soak face and beard in very warm(almost hot) water for 30 seconds, then rub with a face cloth to remove dead skin and rough up beard a bit.
    5) Squigy off drops of water from face and let dry a little while whipping up later with soap.
    6) Throw a little hot water on face and apply later, face lathering a bit.
    7) Shave, slowly and carefully. One pass does it for me. Might go back and do patches if I missed bits but not the whole thing.
    8) Rinse off with cold water, clean brush and razor, dry razor.
    9) Moisturize.
    10) If meeting a woman, one pass against the grain, some aftershave.
    11) Stroke face for 10 minutes.

    No, I use DE.
I also tend to shave in the evenings, around 10pm. At weekends when I have time I enjoy a quality shave in the morning.

I've been DE shaving now for 7 months and while my time hasn't reduced by much I have found that I rarely get nicks or weepers so my technique is improving but if I rush things it's crimson tide :(

!. I take off all my clothes.
    ". I apply shaving foam.
    3. I eat my morning snack.
    4. I then pick up my €200 priceless shaving equipment.
    5. I then begin to shave my smexy sideburns.
    6. Fin

Sorry man but you need a new razor. Mach 3's are so last year.

I'm not good at estimating time, so I timed myself this morning.

Pre-shower I fill my scuttle with hot water and leave the brush soaking in it. Let's say a minute or so. Then shower and towel off.

At this point I checked the time before kicking off the shave routine proper. Start to fill the sink with hot water, empty the scuttle and refill with fresh hot water, leave the brush and shaving soap (Wool Fat) soaking in the sink. Wet face, apply Proraso pre-shave. Drain the soap, shake out the brush, work up the start of a lather in the soap bowl, finish the lather in the scuttle. Lather up, shave WTG. Re-lather, shave XTG. Re-lather, shave ATG. Rinse face with warm water. Let the water out of the sink, cleaning with the brush as I go (easiest way to avoid scummy soap/stubble residue in the sink). Rinse face with cold water. Rinse the brush, shake and squeeze it out, dry it on a towel. Rinse and dry the razor. Rinse out the scuttle, leave it upside-down to dry. Apply aftershave balm (Speick).

Checking the time again, that last paragraph took me twelve minutes.

sweet Jehovah, if I did all of that in 12 minutes there would be spilled balm (possible smashed bottle too), a few weepers and left with a far from DFS.

Mine is about 30 minutes but I do it quite rarely. It's not only because of laziness but also due to the huge amount of time shaving takes of a man's life if it's done every day...

    My routine?
I believe in taking care of myself and a balanced diet and rigorous exercise routine. In the morning if my face is a little puffy I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now.

After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub.

Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older.

Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

    :pac:
nah, seriously this is what I do

    1. Fill the mitchells full fat soap dish with hot water
    2. Rinse brush under the tap
    3. Rinse face
    4. Empty soap dish and create lather
    5. Apply lather to face and neck
    6. First pass on setting 1 with Merkur Progress
    7. Rinse & re-lather
    8. Second pass on setting 1 with Merkur Progress
    9. Rinse with hot water and towel dry
    10. Rinse with cold water and allow to dry naturally
    11. Rinse soap dish and clean and shake brush dry

Takes me 10min or so almost every morning :)
Take my time and might do a third pass at the weekend

I think you should change 2nd point. Better to use to use a bar of Carbolic soap. Can't beat the auld carbolic...................
