I've heard this from very reliable sources that the Irish Mint is printing the Punt again.

Apparently no need to panic as we must have our own currency in stock just in case...but still... makes you think.

    MOD COMMENT TO eldwaro:
Before starting another thread on any of the Politics forums, especially the Irish Economy sub-forum, it is highly recommended that you become familiar with our charter and guidelines, especially the below two guidelines, or you may find yourself officially warned or infracted:

It's fully appreciated that it's an emotive time but lately, there's been an awful lot of scaremongering Chicken Little threads ("The sky is falling on our heads!"). Yes, times are tough but posting about how the whole world is doomed and the need to start bank rushes, buying gold and hoarding tinned food aren't for the Politics forum. This forum is for political discussion, not rants, conspiracy theories or posts better suited to blogs or Twitter.

    8. Misinformation
Deliberately misleading posts or posters aiming to spread misinformation will be sanctioned. We do not expect posters to be experts in all areas, however, the onus is on all posters to fact check their information.
On the other hand, if you can substantiate your "very reliable sources" claim with credible citations (i.e., not red tops or twitters, etc.), PM me with these sources, and we will consider re-opening this thread.

    Sincerely,
    Black Swan
