Lads I was one of the students on it last year and I'll be one of the leaders up there this year. Don't be worried about heading up or anything because it's actually great craic!

You live up there in college park which is basically the nicest accommodation on campus. As far as I remember there's 4 students in each apartment and then 1 leader too.

You go to some classes in the morning and afternoon, nothing major it's just to get you into the swing of things and try and teach you some skills. You'll have to do a group presentation too which is a bit nerve wrecking but you're better off getting a bit of experience because you'll inevitably have to do one later in the year, so basically it'll just benefit you. Lunch is provided in the canteen too. Then in the evening there's a few different activities put on and I think they pretty much change each year.

But like I said, don't be nervous. You'll meet loads of friends on it. I'm still in contact with some of mine from last year. It's basically your first experience of the University and you'll just have a better idea of how to get around in comparison to all the other students.

Nah you don't have to pay for the accommodation at all. All you really need to bring up is basically comfortable clothes for the few days and some food for your breakfast and dinner, and maybe some food for lunch if you're a really picky eater but the food in the canteen is usually pretty good and should do you, and that's coming from a fairly picky eater!

Really try not to miss it because it really helps to have the bit of knowledge about the college starting out...plus the money that comes as a result of coming along really lends a hand to paying for books, accommodation and the odd few pints sure!

I am going to this also.... I am a bit nervous about it as I am on my own but I suppose I won't be the only one on my own.:o It was really nice to see the info about it. :cool:

i did it last year and was great for getting to know people all year around campus i was bumping into access heads i met while on the summer school i really enjoyed it and i knew every part of the campus when it was over which was great for when you really start the information you get at it will really stand to you in your first few weeks !

I'm going up this year as a 2nd year leader! But no no1 or nothing about the 4 days cuz I only got accepted onto access at the end of the year! So gonna be learnin curve for me these 4 days!! Cant wait tho!

I'm going up Tuesday, really excited but nervous, don't know anyone else going, but sure i suppose we're all in the same boat!

I did this in first year and was a Leader last year!
It's a brilliant week which stands you in great stead for you first week in college.
