Should I pursue UCC Law?

I live in Cork but just got an offer to do Law Plus in UL. I got 480 points, so it seems I only barely missed Law in UCC (which was 480* this year)

I know naturally people will be biased towards UCC on this forum, but here goes anyway- if I do on the off-chance get offered UCC Law in round 2, should I change plans (which includes forfeiting some deposit money, finding accommodation near UCC and taking the much lower non-adjacent rate grant) to do it?

I've been advised by some people that UCC's 3 year straight Law course would be a more sought-after degree than UL's Law Plus. On the other hand, I've had people tell me that Law Plus (4 years)is a broader degree and therefore leaves graduates in a better position than plain Law students.

Just to be clear- I'm not asking which college you think is better or which city I'll have more craic in (those are factors but that's for another thread), I'm just wondering if there really is an academic advantage to doing Law in UCC? is it big/negligible? or, all other things being equal, is Law Plus a maybe better degree?

    Thanks for your advice!

That's interesting- I can't find any lists of top law schools that include UCC online though, so a link would be great. So you are saying UCC law is much more highly regarded than UL, correct?

UCC law is the only top rank law school outside Dublin - just look at the publications record of its staff compared to UL or NUIG

Thanks for that, that does seem impressive. I'm from America originally and I know over there which uni you go to is very important for employers, wasn't sure if it was as much of a big deal here since everyone ends up going to King's/Blackhall in the end anyway...
