IT Courses in general don't seem to attract many females. Its hard to say, as with Computer Forensics (and similar Level 8 Courses) there is a large drop out rate. I don't ever recall many females in the Forensics, or Applied Computing.

Computer Forensics looks like a good course, but I think the Applied Computing course which does Forensics is better if you want to look at IT from a broader perspective. No idea about "Info Tech" or what it is.

As for prospects, Computer Forensics is only a new course and hasn't really produced many graduates IIRC. Open to correction. The course leader looks in from time to time, but I doubt he will post. There are some students from this course posting on the forum tho.

forensics is a top course, and its very challenging. as sully said, it has not produced many graduates, and thus they have changed the course from a 3 year level 8 to a 4 year level 8, re-shuffled a lot of the modules, added new ones and spread out the harder ones and so on.

we currently have 2 females going into third year, second year have a few too! but im unsure of the numbers in first year, but during registration there were a few of them.

with comp forensics you can go into law enforcement, fraud autiting, or system security roles.

Id wonder whether that degree would actually get you into the above named job roles in the end though, without having to do further education. Will be interesting!

When I started into Entertainment Systems Sept 09, I believe there was 4-5 girls starting in Forensics at that time. Not sure how many progressed.
