Just wondering is there many of us matures starting in Trinity this September?

Just got my offer through the CAO this Monday morning as I went back to do the Leaving Cert this year (first time) and my offer was dependent on the results. Managed to get them so will be starting TR071 Science in September. :D

    Hi Steve,

Congratulation on getting the place and the leaving cert too!

I seen on the TCD forum people are talking in a thread about mature students on TR071.

I can't link now I'm on my phone but few people talking over there.

    Good luck with the course.

    I think that's Steve! :D

I think this thread might be better in the TCD forum itself. I'll send it over and see if it sticks.

Just to add, I'm a fellow maturie. Going into 3rd year! Eek. Where the hell did the time go?!?!

Congrats :D I'm heading in Sept too, starting in med, like a small child I'm that excited. I was accepted in the Round A(or is it 0?) so have known for awhile but didn't start getting excited until this week really when I realised it's ACTUALLY happening :D I've to go to Eason's tomorrow and buy all my new copies and pens....;)

Good luck to all of you with your courses! :D

Anybody that got there offers in the earlier rounds have any more info than the TCD orientation site? I don't have anything in the post yet seeing as only accepted my offer yesterday morning (even though I accepted it at 6:08am :p).

Was wondering if there's a mature student orientation with the MSO or anything?

Yes, it is the week before Fresher's Week. I'd urge maturies to go if they can as its a great way to familiarise yourself with the campus and maybe meet others from your course. Fresher's Week is pretty chaotic.

I won't be helping out this year as I'm placement. :(

Larianne - Do you happen to know where the info is for the Mature Students Orientation, maybe I'm just missing it but can't find anything about it.

I'm just going by the past two years. There has always been an orientation week the week before Freshers. I'd say Clodagh will be sending information out soon enough. :)

I got an email from Clodagh asking for help on Monday 12th so that's the start of Orientation week for Maturies.

Defo go if you can. I found it helpful and I made a buddy on the first day! Invaluable for the madness of Fresher's week. ;)

Thanks Larianne, do you know if info's been sent out? Just wondering as I am a mature student but didn't get in that way so may have been missed!

I couldn't tell you Allie. If you didn't get your place via mature entry you wouldn't be sent an info pack. If you email Clodagh Byrne, the mature student officer she might be able to send you out an info pack. mature.student.officer@tcd.ie

I emailed Clodagh last week about it and she emailed me a timetable back the same day.

I received it in the post this week with an attendance slip that had to be returned by Friday so sent it straight away.

The info and timetable I got does say "Engineering, Science and Pharmacy" so there may be different ones depending on your course.
